Sheikh Nasser Al-Thani has 15+ years of experience in telecommunications operations and local government entities. In his current role, he is responsible for leading the teams that support new and emerging business opportunities in smart cities, ICTE and mega-project sectors, as well as the Qatar Data Centre.
Further more, Sheikh Nasser has created value across multiple business sectors - he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Al-Siliya Sports Club for 10 years, and is currently a board member of Masraf Al Rayyan Bank, Starlink, Ooredoo Kuwait, Aisacell and Arab Sat. Kenny Wang is Hikvision Senior Regional Technical Engineer and Adviser with responsibility for GCC region. He is expert for video surveillance solution in multiple areas such as financial industry, transportation, building surveillance and city surveillance etc.
Currently responsible for business consulting of smart city solutions within Poland-based software powerhouse, Comarch. The main areas of focus include proximity marketing, omni-channel communication and guidance solutions, designed for customers & citizens, all centered around mobile applications.
Previously Arkadiusz was involved in pre-sales consultancy of loyalty management platforms for large enterprises, especially frequent flyer programs for airlines. In parallel, he has exercised modern approach to customer engagement as enhancement to traditional loyalty, mainly in the form of gamification in managing customer relationship.
Apart from being an IT consultant, Arkadiusz runs independent music label after hours.
Bartosz Demczuk who is a Master of Science in Economics (Specialization in International Relations) has been working at Comarch since 2007. Before joining Comarch he worked in Ahold as a project manager building the first EDI platform in Poland. He was also responsible for key company projects in areas of logistics, commerce and accounting. Having gained substantial retail background and business experience after 5 years he decided to join Comarch, where he became a Solution Manager responsible for EDI solution for corporate customers. In 2007 he moved to the Loyalty & Airlines Systems group in Comarch where he took the position of Senior Manager. He was responsible for building comprehensive loyalty solutions for customers from banking, retail, telco and petrol industry, mostly in the CEE, DACH and Russian market. Since 2013 he is a Business Unit Director responsible for Comarch Middle East.

OMS., D.Sc. 53, Born in Bangalore, India, is a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, a post graduate in Microelectronics and a Doctor of Science in Medical Engineering (magna cum laude), and also holds a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Crisis Management. A pioneering researcher and an opinion leader in the field of Biophysics, Radiobiology, Nanotechnology and Sustainable Energy. Specialized in Electronics and Medical Engineering, he has worked for more than twenty years on regenerative tissue engineering and high speed biological data acquisition, modeling and simulation of the human cardiovascular system, artificial intelligence and neural networks in medical diagnosis and engineering. Among the many patents held by him include the Realistic Geometry Cartographic Imaging (RGCI) which finds applications from medical science to tsunami detection, and the Cytotron which is considered an important milestone in radiobiology and in vivo tissue engineering. His work on Nanotechnology has sparked off a new technique in selective tissue destruction with a "nanoblaster" that is undergoing laboratory trials. As the Head of Sales for OSRAM Lighting Solutions, Yenal Gul manages project sales in the MEA region through a wide portfolio of solutions including but not limited to Traxon, Siteco, Osram and Tvilight.
Previously, Mr. Gul was a product manager at Traxon Technologies, also in the architectural lighting field, as well as holding several positions with OSRAM in Germany and Italy.
Originally from Turkey, Mr. Gul has an MSc in Engineering Business Management from University of Warwick and an Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree from Koc University.
Dr. Fethi Filali is the Head of Technology Development & Applied Research at Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC). He is leading the technology development of QMIC's solutions in the area of Smart Cities, Internet of Things, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Connected & Automated Vehicles solutions. He has invented technologies and developed algorithms that have been shipped in many QMIC products, including Masarak®, Labeeb® and WaveTraf®, creating commercial impact in the order of millions of dollars.
Dr. Filali received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Habilitation degrees from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, France, in 2002 and 2008, respectively.
Prior to joining QMIC in 2010, Dr. Filali was with the Mobile Communications department of EURECOM, France, as Assistant then Associate Professor for 8 years.
His research grants include 15 competitive awards from several funding agencies (European Commission, The French National Research Agency, and Qatar National Research Fund).
He was the Ph.D. Director of more than ten Ph.D. students in the area of intelligent transportation, wireless sensor and mesh networks, vehicular communications, big data analytics, internet of things, and mobility management.
Dr. Filali co-authored more than 130 research papers in international peer-reviewed conferences and journals and (co-)filed more than 10 patent applications.
Ibrahim Kocagoz is the Smart City Project Manager – QPM , Lusail City Development Project. Prior to joining QPM, Ibrahim worked as an Electrical and Instrumentation Design Manager at AECO in Oman. Ibrahim received a Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Istanbul in 2004.
Ibrahim has more than 15 years experiences at urban development, oil & gas fields, industrial projects where he is really good on engineering, construction, commissioning, research, development, management, especially for systems integration, instrumentation & control systems, and sustainability.
He started his professional working life in 1998 with a GSM company and focused on wireless communication systems and radio systems more.
Chaos, Chua Oscillator, Chaotic and Non-linear Dynamic systems was the subject of his thesis to graduate from the university. This research took two years which was financially supported by university and government. Several universities and researchers referred to this research as well.
Prior to joining the Communications Regulatory Authority in the Competition Policies section, Francesco Paolo Di Gregorio has been a manager within Telecom Italia, the main Italian telecommunications provider with an international footprint, and an entrepreneur successfully managing an SME active at a local level.
His contribution to the Italian eGov 2012 strategy, to the development of the Digital Agenda and of viable models for the internet-based economy testify his inclination to draft innovative scenarios, adapting global solutions to local problems to bridge public and private interests.

He is a professional Technocrat with 16 Years Industrial experience in large-scale iconic international construction projects in the Middle east region. Mr. Sudheer has an extensive technical knowledge across a broad range of sectors including Stadiums, Healthcare, Sports & Leisure, Hotels and Government Buildings.
He has held roles with overall Technology systems and Solutions Engineering, deployment, commissioning and transition on the regional largest digital hospital project “Sidra Medical and Research Center” in State of Qatar. Mr. Sudheer is currently engaged with engineering and designing the digital technology for the State esteem project - Lusail FIFA world cup stadium.
Prof. Ali A. Alraouf is an architect and urban planner interested in research and practice related to architectural, urban, sustainable design and holistic planning. He was a Visiting Scholar at UC, Berkeley-USA. Alraouf has held permanent and visiting teaching and research positions at regional and international universities. He published more than 90 journal refereed papers, critical reviews, essays, in addition to books and book chapters. Alraouf’s current research interests are: Knowledge-based Urban Development, Post-Carbon Contemporary Gulf Cities, Knowledge and Creative cities. He serves in editorial boards and acts as a reviewer for international journals and conferences. He delivered lectures and presentations in over 25 countries. He is the recipient of number of awards and was selected as member of 2012 Excel campaign at Qatar University. He is currently acts as Head of capacity building, training, research and development unit at Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME). He is also the leader of Green Urbanism and Planning Group at Qatar Green Building Council.
Amr Saad is ambitious, exciting, on-the-way-up, BIM passionate expert, who enjoys managing change, influencing and engaging others on the BIM process. As an Autodesk Expert Elite & BIM Consultant and as being one of BIM early adaptors in MENA he contributed to spread the BIM knowledge across the region. He participated in several events introducing BIM Process. In addition, Amr has developed and maintained BIM implementation strategies in different scales. Also, he leads the production and maintenance of BIM guides, which reflect client requirements through BIM standard process and workflow. Through his career, Amr implemented BIM process in many projects. He helped several international companies to leverage the BIM benefits. These companies vary from owners, real estate developers, consultants and contractors.
Dr. Alwaer is a highly skilled urbanist with a background in ‘architecture, urban planning and sustainability’, who writes intensively and speaks regularly on making better places. He is a specialist in Sustainable Urban Design and Evaluation working at the University of Dundee, School of Social Sciences with a demonstrable leadership qualities with impact in academia, practice and in community out-reach. He has passionate interest in the future of sustainable and smart places and towns, in particular development of new thinking on processes and methods to unlock sustainable urbanism.
In addition to his experience as a masterplanner, with the skill sets of a facilitator/educator and a knowledge of sustainable urbanism, he has promoted the “place momentum” approach jointly with Kevin Murray associates, which treats place-making for more sustainable communities as an intelligent process, whereby stakeholders, community and specialists professionals collaborate in a progressive inquiry to deliver positive solutions and make a difference for people on ‘the ground’.
He has gained international recognition for providing intellectual leadership as a facilitator, educator and researcher in sustainable place making and masterplanning, contributing to emerging theory, practice and technical developments. He is increasingly recognised as a leading authority in masterplanning and sustainability assessment, with a considerable national or international reputation, evidenced, for example, by: his contribution to the Scottish Government’s Planning Review; and a recent funded project by the Scottish Government investigating the potentially significant role of facilitation in community participatory design processes. The Scottish Government (Planning and Architecture Division) has recently drawn him in as a special adviser on charrette events and their new Ideas Programme. This reflects positively on the quality of his insight on key planning techniques, as well as validating his integrity and professional judgment. The RTPI East Scotland Chapter recently invited him to join their committee.
His research has had broader impact within the community of practice and policy makers, influencing professional and policy debates nationally and internationally via invitations from national and international governments, organisations, firms and universities for outreach activities and public engagement, transferring lessons/knowledge learnt and applying them to new contexts. Prestige invitations included presentations/workshops to the United Nations Programme for Human Settlements III (3 prestige invitations in 2016 funded by the UN in Vancouver, Riyadh and Dubai), PlaceMaking Leadership Forum, Scottish Government, Saudi Government, RTPI Scotland, Urban Design London, and Urban Design Group. He has published 35 peer-reviewed international journal papers, professional reports and books relating to the broad topics of urban design, spatial planning and sustainability, including his recent published book “Site and Composition: Design Strategies in Architecture and Urbanism” with Bandyopadhyay and Aldallal (Routledge, 2016), and a new international edited book (in press) with Barbara Illsley on “Rethinking Masterplanning: Creating Better Places” (ICE Publisher, expected June 2017). He was awarded the 2014 Reed and Mallik Ltd Journal Prize for the best paper published in the Journal of Urban Design and Planning. The excellence of his work in urban planning and urban design has been recognised by gaining the following prestige professional statuses: RTPI, BREEAM AP, AoU and RP(UD).
Dr. Spanos is a Chartered Engineer with 16 years’ professional experience in low energy buildings and in developing sustainable building solutions. Following a PhD in the physics of energy in urban environments, his experience includes the design and construction of buildings within almost all sectors including sports’. Dr. Spanos is actively involved from the position of PM and Sustainability Designer Manager to a number of Qatar 2022 Stadium and Precincts. During the Construction Week Awards Qatar 2016, we was Highly Commended for the “depth of knowledge in sustainable engineering design and modern construction techniques” and for “developing a standardised approach to low energy and sustainability engineering. His team has also received the “Green Service Provider, Building Consultant - Qatar Sustainability Award 2016” from Qatar Green Building Council & Qatar Foundation in the recognition of efforts, commitment, and contributions of individuals, institutions and organizations in furthering sustainable development and environmental protection in Qatar and beyond.
